Enter the dose printed on your product's label and the area you will spray. We work out the water, the number of tanks and the product per tank — nothing more. If the label and the advisory disagree, the label wins and your agri officer settles it.

Too little breeds resistance; too much scorches the crop and breaks the residue limit. Measure with the pack's own cup.

At the counter · In the field

🧾 At the counter

  • Registration number, batch number and expiry printed on a sealed pack
  • A bill that shows the same batch number as the pack
  • Price at or below the printed MRP — charging more is an offence
  • The label names your crop and your problem — a cotton registration is not a paddy licence
  • Loose, decanted or "special mix" bottles — walk away

🧤 In the field

  • Full sleeves, gloves and a mask — PPE kits are listed under Safety gear on the crop protection page
  • Spray at dawn or dusk, with the wind at your back
  • Note the PHI from the label and count forward to your harvest date
  • Rinse empties three times, puncture them, and never reuse them for food or water
🚫 Keep children and animals away while mixing and after spraying. If anyone feels unwell, take the label to the doctor and call 1800-116-117 (AIIMS poisons helpline, 24×7) or 112.

Buying pesticides in Coimbatore: what to check at the counter

A pesticide here means a chemical insecticide, fungicide or herbicide that carries a CIB&RC registration number — the bio-controls, neem products, traps and safety gear sit on the crop protection page instead. Every one of these products may be sold only by a dealer holding a licence under the Insecticides Act, and every one of them is priced by the printed MRP on the pack; paying more is not a bargain, it is an offence you can report. Before you buy, get the problem named free of charge by your block's Agricultural Officer or the KVK, because a product registered for cotton bollworm is not registered for paddy stem borer just because the shop says it works. The card shows the registration number, the pack and its MRP, what the label covers and the PHI where the label states one, each with the date we read it. agri.in connects you to the dealer and stops there — no selling, no prescribing, no commission.

Common questions

Is this page the same as crop protection?
No. This page lists chemical insecticides, fungicides and herbicides that carry a CIB&RC registration number. Bio-controls such as Beauveria and Pseudomonas, neem products, pheromone traps and safety gear are on the crop protection page. Both pages are read from the same dealers near you.
How do I tell a genuine pesticide from a fake one?
Four printed things must agree: the CIB&RC registration number on the pack, the batch number on the pack and on your bill, an expiry date that has not passed, and a seal that has not been opened. If any one is missing, do not buy, and report the counter to the Agriculture Department or the Kisan Call Centre on 1800-180-1551.
Can I buy from any shop, or sell a leftover pack?
Only a dealer licensed under the Insecticides Act may sell a registered pesticide, and a farmer has no exception — a half-used can cannot legally be sold to a neighbour. That is why there is no sell button anywhere on this page.
Does agri.in sell pesticides or tell me what to spray?
Neither. We show registered products with their printed MRP and put you in touch with dealers who cover your pincode, free and without commission. What to spray, how much and when comes from the product label and your Agricultural Officer. Paid placements are always marked.
