How many HP do I need for a 300 ft borewell?
For a 300 ft borewell with water at around 200 ft, a 5–7.5 HP V4 submersible with 30–40 stages is typical for 1–2 inch delivery at 150–250 lpm. Yield matters as much as depth — a low-yield well needs a smaller pump with a dry-run protector, not a bigger one.
